This is how the present Laman Tampin looks like. Its my dream to to upgrade the landscape ......
Before any action taken, the old lady's approval is a must

My mom who is now 82+ has cared for this "kampung" for more than 30 years

Laman 2008

Laman 2008, Taman Tasik Perdana KL, 21 July 08

Me and hubby spent whole afternoon looking forward to learn more on flora and landscaping but we were disappointed that it was a lesser presentation compared to the 2006 which was a great work done by the Jab Lanskap Negara.

Anyway, I made a finding, ie : bunga telang that gives blue colour to nasi kerabu. Not sure that it is still being used now since we can get food coloring off the supemarket shelf. Datin Seri (YAB PM'swife) "edible garden" was a comendable effort and am sure the public can learn a lot from the display.

also known as : Asian Pegionwings
Group : Dicot
Family : Fabaceae
Duration : Perennial
Growth Habitat: Vine/Herb –
climbing plant with relatively long woody stems

Got a few shots on Kelantan features :-

That too was a good effort but the state of Perak and Johor have done great job.

Long overdue update

No excuse is a good excuse. Sure there have been great happenings since mid 2007 till this date. On top of the list was the date: 15 Oct 2007 that marked end of my service with Tourism Malaysia and instead on the monthly salary in the bank account, now would just be the monthly pension payment from the treasury.

That particular day was 2nd day of the Eidulfitri festivity. What more..birthday cake for the October babies - Adik, Kak Long Jenab with her daughter Eza and cucu Azelea, brother-in-law Kamaruddin and yours truly, though feeling shy, I did love blowing the candle and slicing up the befday cake at age of 57.

Emak

This grand old lady has great influence in my life.
Always a special spot in heart for me.

Will be fifty-six soon. Looking forward to retire “kampung-style” with my husband and living with my eighty-five years old mother. I imagine myself walking to the mosque for evening prayers and Qur’an classes, early morning chatting session with relatives many of whom I seldom meet, pounding chilies and spices for cooking sessions and feeding chickens and ducks daily in the afternoons. I could certainly paint a pretty scene.

Our three children doubted that I could adjust to the serene kampong reality. To assure them of my serious venture, I have signed-up for ‘Nursery and Landscaping’ course so that I could be physically and mentally active in the kampong circle.

Making this move would be a chance for me to feel connected and be involved with my elders and kampung folks. I hope I could do justice to both myself and my family with this major decision in my life.

A Story from A friend

Good moral story to read!!!

A man and woman had been married for more than 60 years. They had shared everything. They had talked about everything. They had kept no secrets from each other except that the little old woman had a shoebox in the top of her closet that she had cautioned her husband never to open or ask her about.
For all of these years, he had never thought about the box, but one day the little old woman got very sick and the doctor said she would not recover. In trying to sort out their affairs, the little old man took down the shoe box and took it to his wife's bedside.
She agreed that it was time that he should know what was in the box. When he opened it, he found two crocheted dolls and a stack of money totaling $95,000.
He asked her about the contents. "When we were to be married," she said, "my grandmother told me the secret of a happy marriage was to never argue . She told me that if I ever got angry with you, I should just keep quiet and crochet a doll . "
The little old man was so moved; he had to fight back tears. Only two precious dolls were in the box. She had only been angry
With him two times in all those years of living and loving. He almost burst with happiness. "Honey," he said, "that explains the doll,
But what about all of this money? Where did it come from?"
"Oh," she said, " That's the money I made from selling the dolls."
Women will love this...
A Prayer....... Dear Lord, I pray for Wisdom to understand my man; Love to forgive him; And Patience for his moods; because Lord, if I pray for Strength, I'll beat him to death.
Amen!
